VP of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Ensure that accurate accounting and bookkeeping protocols are consistently adhered to, while also identifying gaps in our existing processes.

• Manage our tax responsibilities at both state and national levels as we grow into new markets.

• Take ownership of the financial metrics that guide business decisions, ensuring they are precisely defined, calculated, and reported.

• Create financial documentation for fundraising efforts, board presentations, and investor communications.

• Supervise procurement integrity by verifying that received hardware and services correspond with purchase orders and payments.

• Review server hardware, colocation, and software license billing to confirm accurate billing practices.

• Ensure that commissions and other incentive compensation are computed accurately.

• Identify and implement improvements to the complexities of the billing cycle and other operational inefficiencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of finance experience, including significant time served as a controller, VP of Finance, or CFO.

• Practical experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting — with hands-on involvement rather than merely oversight.

• Proven history of managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions (both US state and international).

• Experience in establishing or formalizing finance operations in a startup or rapidly growing company.

• Strong analytical abilities and the confidence to take ownership of the metrics and models that leadership depends on.

• A readiness to work at a fast-paced environment and the capability to execute tasks independently before delegating to others.
