This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and Oversee the AI Organization: You will be responsible for creating and overseeing the AI organization at 4MP, engaging in hands-on technical tasks. Your role will include recruiting and mentoring a top-tier team while designing AI modules, writing code, reviewing architectural plans, and developing prototypes with team members.
• Direct AI Architecture: You will design and develop the intelligence layers that empower machines to comprehend manufacturing intent, recognize system deviations, and autonomously produce corrective actions.
• Integrate Diverse Data Sources: You will define the interactions between AI and physics-based models, machine telemetry, sensor data, CNC programs, and the manufacturing context.
• Analyze & Adjust CNC Programs: You will develop AI systems to derive machining intent from G-code, taking into account operator variability, differences in CAM, and various programming styles.
• Create Learning Frameworks: You will establish feedback loops that integrate AI reasoning with physics-based models and sensor data, enabling machines to learn from each correction cycle and production outcome.
• Develop Data Infrastructure: You will construct a scalable data architecture that captures manufacturing intelligence across machines, components, tools, materials, and production environments.
• Design Simulation Environments: You will define simulation and validation environments for training, testing, and expanding autonomous correction models.
• Foster Strategic Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborating closely with other functional leaders, you will help shape the company strategy, technology and business roadmaps, as well as detailed project plans.
• Practical AI Management: Proven track record in building and managing an AI organization while engaging in hands-on technical work. You should be comfortable leading teams while actively contributing to the coding process.
• 10+ Years of Experience: Extensive experience in AI, software engineering, machine learning architecture, robotics, intelligent systems, or complex technical platforms.
• Industrial Domain Knowledge: Direct experience in robotics, autonomous systems, industrial systems, physics-informed machine learning, reinforcement learning, control systems, simulation, digital twins, or real-world telemetry.
• System Architecture Expertise: Extensive experience in designing and constructing production-grade AI, ML, data, or software infrastructure from the ground up.
• Strong Coding and Data Management Skills: Outstanding hands-on coding abilities and proficiency in managing data pipelines, model orchestration, validation, feedback loops, and intricate, real-world data.
• Core AI/ML Knowledge: A strong, current understanding of optimization, statistical modeling, and system-level AI design.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
