VP, Head of Investment Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Leads the investment accounting function (GAAP and statutory) for the Company’s consolidated investment portfolio.

• Collaborates with the Investment Department and Finance leadership.

• Responsible for the strategy and implementation of the investment accounting operating model.

• Builds, nurtures, and retains a high-performing team.

• Ensures accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and annual closure and reporting for invested assets.

• Guides investment accounting policy, interpretation, and application for complex transactions and instruments.

• Works closely with the Chief Investment Officer and senior Investment leaders.

• Establishes and upholds an effective internal control environment over investments.

• Delivers executive-level insights and materials regarding investment results.

• Directs cross-functional initiatives to enhance process efficiency.

• Manages the investment accounting technology roadmap in collaboration with IT and Investments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Over 12 years of accounting or auditing experience, including a minimum of 7 years in investment accounting.

• More than 10 years of management experience.

• At least 5 years of accounting experience in insurance/reinsurance or financial services.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• CFA certification is preferred.
