This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the supervision, review, and filing of FOCUS reports (Form X-17A-5) with FINRA and the SEC, typically on a monthly or quarterly basis.
• Monitor net capital levels to ensure that the firm consistently meets the required minimum net capital at all times.
• Ensure the timely submission of financial statements and supplementary reports, including annual audited financial statements.
• Manage financial books and records, including the general ledger, trial balance, and subsidiary ledgers.
• Interpret and implement SEC and FINRA regulations, especially SEC Rule 15c3-1 (Net Capital Rule) and 15c3-3 (Customer Protection).
• Ensure adherence to Rule 17a-3 and 17a-4 (recordkeeping requirements).
• Respond to inquiries and examinations from regulatory bodies such as FINRA and the SEC.
• Design and maintain robust internal controls to protect customer and firm assets.
• Supervise systems aimed at preventing and detecting errors or fraud in financial reporting.
• Oversee clearing and settlement processes, particularly for self-clearing or carrying firms.
• Monitor cash and securities transactions to ensure compliance with custody regulations.
• Coordinate the annual independent audit of the firm’s financial statements.
• Provide management with guidance on capital adequacy, financing strategies, and the financial implications of new business initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
• Must hold an active FINRA Series 27 license.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in self-clearing financial services.
• Exceptional data analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and a dedicated home office with minimal daily supervision.
