This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +2 more states.
• Provide strategic leadership, direction, and implementation for the development of new products and the ongoing management of non-medical insurance offerings, including Absence, Disability, Life, and Worksite products.
• Oversee the complete product life cycle, from strategic planning and prioritization to launch, implementation, and post-launch monitoring.
• Define and advance the department's strategy and roadmap in alignment with the broader Product Solutions and Group Protection strategy.
• Drive portfolio-level decisions by integrating financial performance, customer requirements, broker dynamics, and operational factors.
• Collaborate with pricing and business-line leaders to convert financial performance into actionable steps that support balanced growth and sustainable margins.
• Provide specialized knowledge regarding enterprise-wide risk exposures and the development of new products.
• Prepare business rationales and present recommendations to business executives concerning new products, ventures, and innovative development initiatives.
• Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance distribution and achieve competitive market positioning.
• Partner with Portfolio Enablement, IT, and other operational areas to facilitate high-quality technology solutions.
• 12+ years of experience in Group Benefits, including product development and/or product management.
• 5+ years of managerial experience, strategic oversight, and senior management/critical stakeholder influence.
• Demonstrated success in building and executing product roadmaps.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; four years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
• Extensive knowledge of best practices in Product Development and Management.
• In-depth understanding of Group Protection Absence, PFML, and Statutory products.
• Comprehensive knowledge of competitive benefits offerings and other service providers.
• Ability to analyze and interpret loss ratios, expense ratios, margin contributions, and lifetime values.
• Ability to recruit, retain, develop, and mentor staff.
• Strong relationship management skills with internal clients, demonstrating the ability to create innovative and collaborative approaches.
• Experience in Supplemental Health product development and/or management is preferred.
