VP, Field CTO – Telecommunications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop NewRocket's strategic approach for the telecommunications sector by pinpointing high-value business process challenges where NewRocket can provide unique solutions.

• Collaborate with the Marketing team to create industry-focused messaging, positioning, and content — including thought leadership articles, solution briefs, campaign materials, and event participation — aimed at generating awareness and enhancing top-of-funnel pipeline.

• Serve as NewRocket's representative in the telecommunications sector through speaking engagements, industry forums (TM Forum, GSMA), white papers, and executive roundtables.

• Keep abreast of industry trends — such as BSS/OSS modernization, 5G monetization, AI-driven network operations, agentic AI, and cloud-native transformation — and convert these insights into timely, relevant go-to-market narratives.

• Design and create AI-powered solutions tailored specifically for the telecommunications industry — incorporating agentic AI workflows, predictive operations, intelligent process automation, and AI-enhanced customer and network management.

• Outline how AI capabilities correspond to distinct telco business processes — for instance, AI-driven fault prediction and resolution in network operations, intelligent order fallout management in service fulfillment, and dynamic resource reassignment in field operations.

• Develop AI solutions that align with ServiceNow’s extensive capability areas, integrating with current BSS/OSS and network environments, while clearly defining data inputs, model requirements, workflow orchestration, and business outcome metrics.

• Remain informed about the evolving landscape of AI and agentic technologies — including large language models, AI agents, and multi-model orchestration — and translate these developments into credible, practical applications for telecommunications clients.

• Collaborate with NewRocket's internal AI capabilities (such as the Intelligent Agent Crew and NewRocket Intelligence) to leverage and expand proprietary assets in telco-specific contexts.

• Identify and create data offerings tailored to the telecommunications sector — addressing the data challenges, gaps, and opportunities that accompany significant telco transformation initiatives.

• Define data products and frameworks specifically for the telecommunications industry across key domains.

• Design data integration and management frameworks — including approaches for data strategy and quality — that support AI, analytics, and operational intelligence use cases.

• Engage directly with C-level, VP, and senior executive stakeholders at telecommunications clients and prospects — leading strategic discussions that link business outcomes to solution architecture.

• Conduct executive workshops and architecture reviews that highlight the right business priorities, establish success criteria, and position NewRocket as a trusted strategic partner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in solutions architecture, strategy consulting, or technology leadership with direct experience in the telecommunications industry.

• Proven history of developing go-to-market offerings, solution frameworks, or industry practices — beyond just project delivery.

• Experience engaging with C-suite and VP-level executives, steering strategic technology discussions that lead to business commitments.

• Extensive, practitioner-level understanding of core telecommunications business processes across two of the three major areas of the value chain.

• Strong architectural knowledge of BSS/OSS platforms (Amdocs, Ericsson, Oracle Communications, Netcracker, Salesforce Industries), integration patterns, AI/ML architecture, and cloud-native telecommunications architectures.

• Experience in architecting AI and agentic solutions — including LLM-based workflows, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and multi-agent orchestration — within enterprise technology settings.

• Proficient with TM Forum frameworks — eTOM, TAM, and Open APIs — for offering design, scoping, and executive communication.
