This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
• Lead the engineering team responsible for LiveAction, the Network Observability product line from BlueCat.
• Oversee the technical direction, architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of a sophisticated, data-intensive platform.
• Define the technical vision and create a multi-year engineering roadmap for products related to network observability, network performance monitoring, or infrastructure monitoring.
• Guide engineering teams in delivering enterprise infrastructure products and services across both SaaS and on-premises environments.
• Design and scale platforms that collect, process, and analyze network telemetry, encompassing flow data, SNMP, packet capture, synthetic testing, and streaming telemetry.
• Implement AI capabilities for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and predictive insights.
• Improve long-standing code bases and formulate strategies to address technical debt.
• Build geographically distributed engineering teams and manage the transition of work to offshore teams and various locations.
• Coach, mentor, and nurture managers and senior technical leaders.
• Establish software development standards, processes, and best practices.
• Create strategic plans in collaboration with Product Management, executive leadership, and team members.
• Engage directly with enterprise and government strategic accounts to comprehend technical requirements and resolve escalations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Customer Care, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
• MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Over 15 years of experience in a software engineering environment.
• More than 10 years managing senior individual contributors and other leads/managers, including leading managers of managers.
• Direct experience in developing network observability, network performance monitoring, or network/infrastructure management products.
• Strong technical understanding of networking fundamentals and telemetry (TCP/IP, routing/switching, NetFlow/IPFIX, SNMP, packet analysis, WAN/SD-WAN).
• Familiarity with open-source technologies such as ClickHouse, Prometheus/Grafana, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in delivering high-performance hardware/appliance systems for network telemetry/packets.
• Extensive experience and in-depth technical knowledge in SaaS or PaaS engineering and on-premise enterprise software delivery.
• Proficient development experience in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience operating at, or reporting directly to, the C-level.
