VP Developer Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategy and development roadmap for the enterprise developer platform and AI engineering capabilities.

• Establish standards for CI/CD, cloud platforms, developer tools, and secure software delivery processes.

• Facilitate the adoption of AI-driven software development tools, governance frameworks, and reusable AI solutions.

• Collaborate with engineering, security, cloud, and developer experience teams to create a unified platform.

• Lead a global organization through senior leadership and foster high-performance engineering teams.

• Take ownership of platform performance, adoption metrics, budgets, vendor investments, and product priorities.

• Set engineering standards aimed at enhancing software delivery speed, quality, security, and developer experience.

• Assess build-versus-buy choices and promote ongoing improvements across the engineering platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years in technology roles.

• At least 5 years of experience in senior leadership positions.

• Proven senior leadership experience in Platform Engineering.

• Hands-on expertise, even if not currently daily: CI/CD platform development (Harness and/or GitHub Actions).

• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure at production scale within at least one major provider.

• Familiarity with Claude Code and the MCP protocol at an implementation level.

• Working knowledge of security tool concepts (SAST, SCA, secrets scanning, SBOM, artifact signing) adequate to guide integration efforts and collaborate effectively with a dedicated security team.

• Proven experience in defining engineering standards and developer platforms within large, matrixed organizations.

• Experience leading the adoption of AI developer tools, AI governance, and modern software development methodologies.
