Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for Shippit’s AWS cloud platform.

• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and product teams to enhance and scale technology solutions.

• Develop and manage the internal platform as a service.

• Ensure that platform and infrastructure requirements are fulfilled to achieve customer objectives.

• Promote the adoption and simplification of technological choices.

• Design and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions tailored for the AWS platform.

• Contribute to Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and Requests for Comments (RFCs) related to the cloud platform.

• Serve as a roaming solutions architect for teams developing solutions on the platform.

• Advocate for best practices, continuous improvement, technical excellence, and a proactive approach.

• Offer expertise in production support, conducting root cause analyses, and post-mortems.

• Enhance reliability, performance, security, and developer experience while delivering business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing core AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM) in a production environment.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Experience in delivering a containerized platform in a public cloud production setting.

• Familiarity with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux CD.

• Ability to implement and manage a declarative deployment workflow.

• Demonstrated experience overseeing a multi-account AWS environment.

• Experience in delivering cloud-native architectures that balance availability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

• Knowledge of observability stacks like ELK and LGTM.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Node.js, Golang, or Ruby.

• Comfortable working in a polyglot programming environment supported by LLM-assisted tools.

• Experience in platform engineering within a highly regulated industry is highly desirable.

• Previous experience in an application or software development role is also highly desirable.
