VistA MUMPS Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develop logical and functional software code using MUMPS.

• Have a solid understanding of unit testing, code coverage, and their roles within a DevOps toolchain.

• Demonstrated ability to respond to issues and make necessary corrections to the program.

• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code in the MUMPS programming language.

• Support initiative: Reduction of Social Security Numbers in VistA.

• Verify and review code during sustainment efforts when bugs or defects arise.

• Test and deploy applications and systems effectively.

• Revise, update, refactor, and debug existing code.

• Create documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

• Act as an expert on applications and provide technical support.

• Engage in exploratory coding, research new technologies, and participate in technical design discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or another engineering or technical field.

• At least 5 years of professional experience in information technology and/or Federal Government contracting.

• Proven experience as a MUMPS developer within VistA.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and regression testing practices.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

• Ability to comprehend front-end user requirements along with a problem-solving mindset.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• High standards, results-oriented, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality software on schedule.

• Capability to obtain a government clearance.

• SAFe/Scrum certification is preferred.

• Experience with Object-Script is an advantage.

• C# experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) is also a plus.
