Node JS Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs utilizing Node JS and associated frameworks.

• Produce clean, secure, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to established coding standards, best practices, and software development methodologies.

• Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, user-centric software solutions.

• Construct and optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and security in a production SaaS environment.

• Engage in architectural discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance code quality and development processes.

• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and application defects promptly.

• Develop and maintain integrations with databases, third-party services, and internal systems.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and overall enhancements to backend infrastructure.

• Keep abreast of emerging Node JS technologies, backend development trends, and industry best practices to foster innovation and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in developing backend applications using Node JS within a production setting.

• Strong hands-on experience with Node JS frameworks, particularly Express.js.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services.

• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.

• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and scalable backend application design.

• Experience in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing backend application performance.

• Preferred familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and contemporary software development best practices.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting capabilities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile development environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to global teams.
