Visiting Professor, Artificial Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Instruct courses and programs following DeVry University's standards.

• Support learning for both undergraduate and graduate students.

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans.

• Organize, prepare, update, and revise course materials.

• Utilize online technologies and course-related software such as websites, email, and online discussions.

• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Communicate course objectives, assignment deadlines, examination dates, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure that exams are aligned with the course's terminal objectives.

• Prepare and grade exams in a consistent and fair manner.

• Provide prompt feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into teaching and learning activities.

• Identify, assess, and address both appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.

• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or a comparable computational field.

• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.

• Degree must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or its equivalent international accreditation.

• Three to five years of hands-on professional experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, intelligent systems, or related computational technologies.

• Proven experience with AI-enabled software development, including machine learning pipelines, generative AI tools, data modeling, or full-stack application development that integrates AI services.

• Possession of industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or software development.

• Strong expertise in AI concepts and technologies.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to elucidate complex technical subjects to a diverse audience.

• Understanding of ethical, responsible, and secure AI practices, including data governance, bias mitigation, and responsible AI deployment.

• Dedication to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

• Additional qualifications driven by state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards may be applicable.

• Preferred: Industry certifications in Python programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science.

• Preferred: Certifications as an AI practitioner or engineer.

• Preferred: Experience with AI development frameworks and tools.

• Preferred: Experience implementing DevSecOps practices within AI or data-driven contexts.

• Preferred: Familiarity with accreditation processes, outcomes assessment, and curriculum alignment.

• Preferred: Active participation or membership in professional technology or AI-related organizations.

• Preferred: Experience integrating AI-assisted learning tools, immersive technologies, or intelligent tutoring systems into higher education instruction.

• Preferred: Two to five years of experience teaching at the post-secondary level.
