Virtual School Counselor – 2026-2027 School Year

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Provide proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups.

• Address individual and group needs through responsive counseling and programming.

• Evaluate transfer student transcripts and communicate appropriate course placements.

• Maintain and review transcripts for current students while informing credit award processes.

• Develop and uphold student graduation plans.

• Deliver career readiness curriculum and assist in formulating career plans.

• Implement Social-Emotional Learning curriculum.

• Develop and manage Student 504 plans.

• Analyze student data to offer insights on suitable academic programs and interventions.

• Travel as necessary to support testing initiatives and school events within the state.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid State Counselor license.

• Bachelor’s degree along with one (1) year of prior experience in counseling and/or advisement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Familiarity with the ASCA model.

• Experience in K-12 online learning environments.

• Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws, including mandated reporting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.

• Capability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality.

• Ability to navigate challenging or emotional situations and make decisions based on evidence.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Competence in managing pressure effectively, prioritizing tasks, and consistently meeting deadlines.

• Customer service-oriented mindset.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing to team efforts.

• Must pass federal and state criminal background checks.
