Virtual Occupational Therapist, OT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide personalized and engaging virtual occupational therapy, customized to meet each student's functional objectives, developmental challenges, and distinct learning profiles.

• Develop organized intervention strategies that correspond with student IEP goals, focusing on areas such as fine motor skills, visual-motor coordination, handwriting, sensory processing, and activities of daily living (ADLs).

• Modify instruction and therapeutic activities in real time, based on student participation, motor skills, and constraints of the home environment, creatively utilizing household items or digital tools to maintain an interactive and effective session.

• Monitor student progress and communicate efficiently with families, IEP teams, and school district stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulations and clear progress reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.

• Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

• A valid state license/certification as an OT (or a willingness to pursue reciprocity).

• Experience in delivering teletherapy or working in a K-12 school district setting is highly advantageous.

• Capability to design and implement lesson plans that align with student goals and accommodations.

• Proficient virtual instruction skills — adeptness with video conferencing tools, digital whiteboards, and keeping students engaged in an online environment.

• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Access to a reliable computer, internet connection, webcam, and a quiet workspace.

• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is a plus.
