This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, benefits, and financial responsibility.
• Contact insurance companies to clarify any incomplete or conflicting information.
• Document verification outcomes in the patient's electronic health record.
• Receive, organize, track, and route requests related to disability and ADA accommodations.
• Manage the receipt, review, uploading, routing, tracking, and secure return of FMLA forms and supporting documentation.
• Handle and review requests for medical records and associated authorizations.
• Retrieve, organize, securely release, and document actions related to medical records.
• Respond to incoming calls and address patient inquiries within the role's scope.
• Document messages and create telephone or office encounters.
• Route clinical concerns and urgent requests to the appropriate care team member.
• Create and update office, telephone, and administrative encounters.
• Upload forms, authorizations, and supporting documents to patient charts.
• Assign messages and tasks to providers or respective departments.
• Monitor work queues, messages, forms, and follow-up lists.
• Assist with scheduling, data entry, document preparation, and various administrative tasks.
• Adhere to workflows and escalate concerns that require clinical or supervisory review.
• Accurately complete requests within established timelines while providing reliable administrative support to a neurology facility.
• Prior experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Insurance Verification Specialist, or a similar healthcare support role.
• Experience in verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Familiarity with disability requests, ADA accommodation requests, FMLA forms, or the processing of medical records.
• Proficiency in using an electronic health record or electronic medical record system.
• Strong telephone communication skills and a commitment to patient service.
• Ability to accurately create and document office or telephone encounters.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to manage multiple pending requests.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality, and secure handling of medical information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to established procedures.
• Reliable internet connection, computer equipment, and a quiet, professional workspace.
• Preferred: experience supporting a neurology practice or neurological care facility.
• Preferred: experience in communicating with insurance companies, employers, disability administrators, or records departments.
• Preferred: familiarity with neurology medical terminology.
• Preferred: experience managing high volumes of calls, forms, patient messages, and documentation requests.
