This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Verify the eligibility of patient insurance, including coverage, benefits, and financial responsibilities.
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve incomplete or contradictory information.
• Record verification outcomes in electronic health records.
• Receive, organize, track, and manage requests for disability and ADA accommodations.
• Receive, review, upload, route, track, and securely return FMLA forms along with supporting documents.
• Handle requests for medical records and authorizations; retrieve, organize, securely release, and document records.
• Respond to incoming calls and address patient inquiries.
• Document messages and create telephone or office encounters.
• Direct clinical concerns and urgent requests to the appropriate care team.
• Create and maintain electronic encounters for office, telephone, and administrative purposes.
• Upload forms, authorizations, and supporting documentation to patient charts.
• Assign messages and tasks to providers or departments as necessary.
• Monitor work queues, messages, forms, and follow-up lists efficiently.
• Assist with scheduling, data entry, document preparation, and other administrative duties.
• Adhere to workflows and escalate issues that require clinical or supervisory review.
• Complete requests accurately within set deadlines while providing reliable administrative support to the neurology facility.
• Prior experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Insurance Verification Specialist, or a similar role in healthcare support.
• Proven experience in verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Knowledge of disability requests, ADA accommodations, FMLA forms, or medical records processing.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record or electronic medical record systems.
• Excellent telephone communication and patient service skills.
• Capability to accurately create and document office or telephone encounters.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple pending requests effectively.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality, and the secure handling of medical information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to established procedures.
• Reliable internet connection, computer equipment, and a quiet professional workspace are essential.
• Preferred: experience in supporting a neurology practice or a neurological care facility.
• Preferred: experience in communicating with insurance companies, employers, disability administrators, or records departments.
• Preferred: knowledge of medical terminology, particularly in neurology.
• Preferred: experience managing a high volume of calls, forms, patient messages, and documentation requests.
• Preferred: experience working remotely with a provider or multidisciplinary care team.
