Video Editor – Long form YouTube videos

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

📋 Description

• At the heart of this position is the editing of long-form YouTube videos. This is the primary function of the role.

• You will be responsible for editing talking head content that includes B-roll integration, text overlays, motion graphics, screen recordings, multi-camera setups, and reaction-style edits across various client channels.

• Each client possesses a unique voice, energy, and audience, and your task is to align with all these elements while maintaining a tight pacing that captivates viewers for 10 to 25 minutes.

• Your post-production responsibilities encompass sound design and mixing, ensuring clean audio, appropriate music selection and leveling, and sound effects that enhance the content.

• The audio must sound polished yet not overproduced.

• Consistent and professional color grading that aligns with the creator's brand and the content's energy, going beyond simple correction, is required.

• You will create motion graphics and text animations, including lower thirds, callouts, data visualizations, title cards, transitions, and any necessary on-screen graphics.

• There is no separate motion graphics position, so this falls within your responsibilities.

• Editing YouTube Shorts and Meta video ads is a bonus and a valuable addition.

• If you can repurpose long-form content into vertical Shorts and create video ads for Facebook and Instagram, it enhances your value, though the main focus remains on long-form YouTube content.

• You will edit a minimum of 12 videos per month, up to 16, which requires effective time management, meeting deadlines independently, and proactive communication regarding any schedule changes.

• You will receive feedback from the founder, account managers, and occasionally directly from clients.

• You accept feedback without ego, ask insightful questions when notes are unclear, and implement revisions quickly.

⛳️ Requirements

• You are an editor who is passionate about YouTube and comprehends why the most successful channels stand out from the rest.

• You recognize pacing choices, discern when a cut serves a purpose versus merely filling space, and grasp that editing is about retention, not just decoration.

• You have prior experience editing YouTube content, not limited to personal projects.

• You have worked on channels with genuine audiences and understand what constitutes engaging content from the editing perspective, enabling you to differentiate between videos that appear good and those that actually retain attention for 15 minutes.

• You are efficient without compromising quality. Editing 12 to 16 videos per month is the minimum, necessitating systems, discipline, and the capacity to make strong creative decisions swiftly, rather than spending excessive time on minor details.

• Your toolkit is well-equipped, and you know how to execute effectively.

• You are an end-to-end editor, responsible for managing the entire post-production workflow: editing, sound, color, graphics, and export.

• You do not delegate color grading or request motion graphics from a designer.

• You are proficient in Premiere Pro, which is our primary editing software.

• You are capable of managing your own calendar, identifying potential issues before they escalate, and communicating proactively, ensuring that no one has to chase you for updates or inquire about the status of an edit.

• You are familiar with the online education, coaching, and information product sectors. You understand the content created by these professionals because you engage with it yourself, and this understanding is reflected in your editing style, as you are aware of the audience on the other side of the screen.
