Video Editor Intern, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Editing video materials from raw footage to refined first and second cuts, with reviews conducted by a senior editor or Art Director prior to final delivery.

• Assisting with pacing, sequencing, and storytelling frameworks under the mentorship of senior team members.

• Editing and balancing dialogue, music, and sound effects to achieve a professional quality.

• Producing multiple variations of the same asset (including different aspect ratios, lengths, and captions) to accommodate testing and platform-specific requirements.

• Adding text overlays, subtitles, and light motion elements as instructed.

• Efficiently implementing feedback from internal stakeholders throughout multiple rounds of revisions.

• Utilizing AI as a creative and production aid, exploring tools to generate footage and audio, as well as to streamline assembly, captioning, and versioning processes.

• Organizing and managing project files, footage, and assets within the team's workflow.

• Assisting Senior Editors with sourcing sound effects and stock footage, setting up projects, and creating cutdowns.

⛳️ Requirements

• A reel or website showcasing edited video work (including school projects, personal endeavors, or professional experiences).

• Proficient in Premiere Pro.

• Basic knowledge of video formats and specifications unique to different platforms.

• A clear interest in storytelling and the fundamentals of visual design.

• Ability to take direction and iterate quickly based on feedback.

• Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from a film, media, or related program.

• Familiarity with After Effects.

• Previous experience editing for social media platforms or paid media.

• Exposure to AI-assisted editing tools or workflows.
