This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and lead the Field Medical Affairs team in the US at Iovance.
• Establish the foundational structure for the company’s inaugural field organization in the US.
• Recruit and manage a team of high-performing Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).
• Represent the Field Medical team both internally and externally to facilitate product launches and ongoing pipeline development.
• Execute field strategy and priorities in alignment with overall clinical development and launch plans.
• Supervise the creation of the MSL onboarding and training curriculum and materials.
• Collaborate with various functions on decisions related to the technology and analytics systems utilized in the field.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide reports on MSL activities to senior leadership.
• Contribute to the formulation of Key Opinion Leader target lists, MSL field source sizing, and territory maps.
• Offer leadership and mentorship to retain and nurture top talent.
• Evaluate, approve, and direct all MSL activities, including research initiatives, educational efforts, and interactions with healthcare providers and other relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure that internal stakeholders are aware of key opinion leader perspectives regarding Iovance products and pertinent disease states.
• Proactively coordinate the field’s need for medical/scientific knowledge necessary for managing and supporting the Iovance pipeline, particularly in aiding clinical trial activities.
• Assist in the creation of clinical slide decks and other resources for MSLs.
• 15+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector within Medical Affairs, with a background in collaborating with cross-functional in-house and field-based teams.
• Oncology-specific experience is mandatory.
• Previous experience in MSL leadership is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented setting.
• Strong organizational skills and business planning capabilities, including budget development and adherence to targets.
• Creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage and comply with Iovance policies, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and government regulations.
• Effective communication and interaction with Senior Management, external opinion leaders, and development team members.
• Experience in delivering formal presentations to Senior Management and external opinion leaders.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in understanding and interpreting scientific and clinical research and literature are crucial.
• Proven self-starter and team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Adaptable, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
• Willingness to take a hands-on approach and ready to “roll up one’s sleeves.”
• Extensive travel required (50%).
