This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Evaluates and underwrites both new and renewal business.
• Authorizes changes to policies.
• Manages workload and oversees written business up to the binding stage.
• Provides leadership to a team focused on production and underwriting.
• Delivers exceptional professional service to Agents and Carrier Partners.
• Achieves or surpasses production targets set by the manager.
• Oversees a multi-member team, ensuring effective communication of all relevant information.
• Cultivates and sustains strong relationships with clients.
• Promotes all products and services to clientele.
• Engages in timely and effective communication with all producers regarding submissions and decisions related to new or renewal business.
• Evaluates and determines endorsement requests for approval or denial.
• Monitors accounts to guarantee adherence to the firm’s policies and procedures.
• Tracks production metrics, including hit ratios, renewal retention rates, risk spread, and other quality measures.
• Reviews and appropriately manages policy servicing requests.
• Examines inspection reports and compares them to the conditions represented during the binding process.
• Meets or exceeds documentation standards, adheres to underwriting authority levels, and successfully passes all audits.
• Keeps necessary licenses to conduct business.
• Bachelor's degree or relevant insurance certification.
• Minimum of three years' experience in the production and marketing of new accounts.
• Must hold valid licenses in the relevant areas of insurance.
• Ability to comprehend and analyze essential components of insurance policies.
• Capacity to understand client needs and possess knowledge of associated risk exposures.
• Ability to identify emerging trends and developments in the insurance sector.
• Proficient in commercial multi-line underwriting and rating.
• Competent in utilizing company automation tools, including Windows, Delphi, Word, DocuCorp, and Rackley ISO Rating Software.
• Ability to establish, nurture, and maintain excellent working relationships with agencies.
• Provide necessary guidance to underwriting support personnel.
• Demonstrate discretion in decision-making processes.
• Strong leadership and collaborative skills.
• Stay updated on current developments in the insurance industry.
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to maintain a travel schedule based on the requirements of clients, Agents, and new business.
