This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and deliver exceptional offerings to both international and commercial clients.
• Collaborate with the executive team to devise innovative and compelling technical solutions that address client challenges, effectively positioning Orbis's product and service offerings (Catalyst, Pulse, Discovery) to enhance programs and achieve improved outcomes for client missions.
• Act as the primary technical strategist for Orbis's international and commercial portfolio: identify opportunities, evaluate technical feasibility, shape solution strategies, and develop proposals that enhance Orbis's competitive edge.
• Work closely with Product and Service Managers to comprehend product and service offerings; seek opportunities to generate new business and create synergies through capability reuse across various programs and regions.
• Contribute to program proposals, concept pitches, and pricing reviews, ensuring technical accuracy, alignment with the firm’s quality standards, and a clear presentation of the value Orbis provides.
• Represent Orbis at international industry forums, conferences, and partner engagements to enhance brand visibility, gather competitive insights, and cultivate new opportunities in targeted markets.
• Oversee the complete technical delivery operations for international and commercial programs, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and mission-focused execution from solution design to deployment and sustainment.
• Design solutions that optimize the reuse of Orbis's core products while accommodating each client's specific operational requirements, integration needs, and deployment environments.
• Anticipate client needs and emerging requirements to proactively address missions and keep delivery teams focused on delivering high-value outcomes.
• Supervise solution implementation and integration, working closely with Product and Delivery teams to align roadmaps, manage resource limitations, and coordinate deliverables across multiple concurrent programs.
• Propel the automation of deployment, testing, and release-management processes to enhance repeatability, reduce risks, and ensure consistent quality across diverse international environments.
• Monitor implementation metrics, identify risks early, and facilitate rapid resolutions in collaboration with program managers and client stakeholders.
• Function as an integral member of the operations and delivery organization, pinpointing opportunities to refine, streamline, and enhance technical delivery across programs.
• Over 15 years of progressive technical leadership in delivering engineering solutions within defense, intelligence, international, or commercial technology programs.
• At least 5 years in a senior technical leadership position (VP Engineering, Principal Architect, Chief Engineer, or equivalent), with direct responsibility for program delivery, technical strategy, and client relationships.
• Proven experience in delivering technical solutions to allied nations, coalitions, or Five Eyes partners, or comparable experience in adapting technology for international deployment and client adoption.
• Established track record in shaping technical strategy, mentoring architects and engineers, and creating high-performing technical teams.
• Military, intelligence, or diplomatic experience in international environments (a significant advantage).
• Senior-level relationships with international defense, intelligence, or partner-nation organizations (a notable advantage).
• Experience in modernizing tactical networks, C4ISR, or enterprise communications architectures, including integrated tactical network and tactical cloud initiatives, for defense, special operations, or coalition clients (a considerable advantage).
• Proven ability to coordinate software and capability delivery across multiple government program offices and major commercial technology partners, aligning delivery schedules and resolving capability timeline conflicts.
• Senior executive experience (CTO, Chief Engineer, or equivalent) leading digital and technological transformation for large defense or government organizations, such as USSOCOM, USASOC, or a service-level command (a significant advantage).
• Extended periods of computer use.
• Regular video conferences and/or in-person meetings.
• Sedentary work: Primarily involves working while seated for prolonged periods; occasionally required to stand, walk, or move around the work area.
• Fine motor skills: Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
• Vision: Ability to read and view a computer screen for extended durations; requires close vision and the capacity to adjust focus.
• Hearing & Speech: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through video conferencing platforms; must be able to hear and understand spoken information within a professional context.
• Lifting: Occasionally required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds (e.g., files, documents, office supplies).
• Concentration: Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a professional office or remote work setting.
