Vice President – Program Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive health of programs, from customer commitment through to delivery, installation, coordination of commissioning, and handoff of warranty.

• Lead a cross-functional team to maintain a rigorous focus on critical-path tasks during scheduling.

• Create structured workflows for various project stages, including kickoff, engineering release, drawing approval cycles, long-lead procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, customer acceptance, installation, and commissioning.

• Continuously enhance program execution practices to minimize rework and boost predictability across functions.

• Establish a robust risk management process for programs that sets clear methodologies, governance, and expectations.

• Ensure executive oversight of major program risks through monthly evaluations.

• Guarantee that every high-risk issue is accompanied by a documented mitigation strategy.

• Responsible for the execution of program-level P&L and fulfilling customer commitments.

• Manage the contract governance processes that ensure visibility into key obligations, risks, and customer commitments.

• Ensure that the Service team is informed about installation schedules and customer needs.

• Develop real-time dashboards to monitor critical indicators of program performance.

• Build and nurture a high-performing Program Management organization capable of overseeing all development and production initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 12 years of progressive experience in program or project management, including substantial executive leadership roles across multi-program portfolios.

• Proven success in managing program-level P&L, contract governance, and customer commitments on large-scale, complex capital-equipment projects.

• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and expand program management organizations in a rapidly growing environment.

• Strong expertise in program management methodologies, governance frameworks, and tools (e.g., Monday.com, Microsoft Project, PLM systems).

• Extensive experience in managing intricate, cross-functional new product development and engineer-to-order production programs, including coordination of installation and commissioning.

• Exceptional executive communication abilities, with the skill to influence at all organizational levels and directly engage with customers.

• Highly persuasive, proactive, adaptable, and capable of leading through periods of change.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities across technical, commercial, operational, and service teams.

• Capacity to comprehend, adopt, and propel new technologies and processes.

• Thrives in a dynamic environment; skilled in prioritizing, managing multiple initiatives, and consistently meeting deadlines.
