Vice President of Social

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Guide the editorial and digital engagement strategy for the National brand across all pertinent social media channels.

• Oversee the creation of content (graphics and video) driven by COURIER's editorial themes.

• Monitor current events closely to generate relevant social content that aligns with COURIER's editorial focus.

• Identify and forge media-sharing collaborations with content creators and influential figures on social media.

• Direct national social media content, talent-driven social initiatives, and cooperative partnerships.

• Track, analyze, and report on social key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights.

• Test and refine social content, publishing, and distribution strategies.

• Drive quantifiable audience conversion from social media platforms to COURIER's newsletters and podcasts.

• Lead the marketing initiatives for COURIER national.

• Develop and maintain a consistent social marketing calendar.

• Lead and nurture the National social team, establishing clear expectations and accountability.

• Distribute bi-weekly summaries of national content to COURIER's marketing list.

• Manage independent social contractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in social content curation and creation.

• An expert in political matters, with a solid understanding of the national and gubernatorial political landscape.

• Strong background in political content development, with preference for candidates having newsroom, campaign, advocacy organization, or PAC experience.

• Graphic design experience is essential for this position.

• In-depth knowledge of best practices for social video publishing.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with a keen eye for design.

• Video editing skills are preferred but not mandatory.
