This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Take ownership of the technical vision and delivery roadmap for the financial platform.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with Product, Finance, Operations, and commercial teams.
• Articulate the technical strategy as communicated by executive leadership throughout the Engineering organization.
• Oversee quarterly OKR planning for the Fintech engineering team.
• Develop and uphold governance standards and evaluation frameworks to ensure financial data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with global public company obligations for the financial platform.
• Own the architectural progression of event-sourced, CQRS-based transaction processing systems.
• Guide the integration architecture with external systems, including payment processors.
• Spearhead ecosystem and external developer enablement initiatives for the Fintech platform.
• Direct and manage Engineering teams through Directors, Managers, and other direct reports.
• Promote professional development opportunities within the organization.
• Set the technical direction for Engineering and related teams.
• Collaborate across teams and with department heads.
• Engage in due diligence activities related to acquisitions.
• Promote transparency and decision-making within the product and engineering leadership team.
• Advocate for and enhance the Pax8 Engineering culture.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years in software engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years in a VP or equivalent senior engineering leadership position.
• Extensive knowledge of financial systems, billing platforms, or commerce infrastructure.
• Experience in AI-native product and engineering organizations.
• Skilled in defining engineering best practices, context, memory patterns, quality gates, and human-in-the-loop (HITL) verification checkpoints.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale, mission-critical capabilities for financial platforms.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, supported by financial and engineering metrics.
• In-depth knowledge of EDA/event-sourced/CQRS architectures.
• Strong understanding of financial systems design, including double-entry accounting models.
• Familiarity with subscription lifecycle management.
• Experienced in AI token commerce.
• Expertise in API architecture for financial platforms, including event-driven messaging, REST, and GraphQL.
• Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering practices and processes.
• Ability to devise innovative strategies for organizational success.
• Capability to build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills across horizontal and vertical organizational lines.
• Strong executive presence and significant influence with stakeholders.
