Vice President, MS-ISAC Member Engagement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and guidance for MS-ISAC member services, support, training and education, regional engagement, and strategic engagement with states and territories.

• Drive MS-ISAC member engagement initiatives that enhance service awareness, increase member satisfaction, promote effective service utilization, and encourage ongoing participation.

• Act as a senior executive liaison with state and territory CIOs, CISOs, Homeland Security Advisors, Emergency Managers, and other senior leaders in state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) sectors.

• Conduct personalized executive-level discussions with state and territory leaders to grasp their priorities, address concerns, communicate the value of MS-ISAC, and align with statewide objectives.

• Supervise member support functions to guarantee prompt, coordinated, and professional responses to member inquiries, escalations, and service-related challenges.

• Oversee training and educational initiatives to assist members in understanding available services and effectively utilizing MS-ISAC resources to enhance cybersecurity resilience.

• Lead regional engagement activities that fortify partnerships with local governments, regional stakeholders, associations, and other SLTT entities.

• Ensure that member feedback, priorities, concerns, and service requirements are documented and relayed to relevant CIS teams for service enhancement, training, reporting, and value communication.

• Collaborate with Sales and Business Services, Operations, Intelligence, Services, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and other CIS teams to synchronize member-facing activities and address issues affecting members.

• Create and uphold scalable engagement playbooks, templates, reporting systems, and operational practices to ensure consistent engagement across diverse MS-ISAC member segments.

• Monitor and report significant member engagement metrics, including service awareness, training participation, support trends, sentiment, engagement activities, and strategic risks or opportunities.

• Lead, mentor, and develop assigned staff and managers, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, collaboration, and alignment with MS-ISAC and CIS priorities.

• Represent MS-ISAC in member meetings, executive forums, regional engagements, association events, conferences, and other relevant external interactions as necessary.

• Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, cybersecurity, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of progressive professional experience, including at least 7 years in senior leadership positions.

• Executive-level experience within state or territorial government, or equivalent experience advising state executive leadership on cybersecurity and technology strategy.

• Extensive knowledge of state and local government operations, funding, legislative, policy, and political dynamics.

• Proven ability to serve as a trusted advisor to governors’ offices, executive branch leadership, and senior public-sector stakeholders.

• Skill in translating member priorities and operational challenges into actionable recommendations, engagement strategies, and opportunities for service improvement.

• Strong executive presence, capable of facilitating high-level discussions, constructively challenging assumptions, and influencing outcomes.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and operate effectively in environments with changing strategies, structures, and requirements.

• Exceptional verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills appropriate for executive and public-facing engagements.

• Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and lead through both authority and influence.

• Dedication to enhancing cybersecurity resilience within the public sector.

• High level of professional judgment, discretion, and integrity.

• A genuine enthusiasm for the CIS mission of securing the connected world.

• This position requires the individual to be a citizen of the United States of America.
