📋 Description

• Take the lead in expanding Chainalysis’ global Accounting department, ensuring operational excellence, scalability, and effective execution across all accounting operations worldwide.

• Supervise essential accounting functions such as General Ledger Accounting, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Consolidations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Tax Compliance, Treasury Operations, and Travel & Expense.

• Build and nurture a high-performing global accounting team with strong leadership depth, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

• Foster an environment where teams are encouraged to challenge outdated processes, drive transformation, enhance workflows, and continuously elevate operational standards.

• Act as a strong cultural ambassador and leader during periods of change within a fast-paced, high-growth setting.

• Manage and enhance the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP.

• Ensure that accounting policies, practices, and reporting adhere to US GAAP and relevant global standards, including complex SaaS revenue recognition, commissions, equity compensation, acquisitions, and other technical accounting issues.

• Lead the ongoing development of Chainalysis’ accounting and reporting framework to align with public-company standards, including scalable controls, governance processes, SEC-readiness, SOX preparedness, and PCAOB-level audit readiness.

• Serve as the executive owner for global audits and the primary senior contact for external auditors.

• Promote operational excellence through simplification, standardization, automation, and disciplined execution across processes, systems, and team workflows.

• Act as a strategic ally to leaders across Finance, Legal, Sales, RevOps, Product, People, IT, and executive leadership, ensuring that accounting, systems, controls, and operational processes facilitate scalable business growth.

• Offer practical, solutions-oriented guidance on accounting and operational matters to support effective decision-making throughout the organization.

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team on matters related to accounting, operational scalability, organizational structure, and financial infrastructure decisions.

• Assist with acquisitions and strategic transactions, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting, integration planning, and post-close operational integration.

• Advocate for a modern, technology-driven accounting organization by utilizing automation, AI-enabled workflows, scalable systems, and data-driven insights to enhance efficiency, decision support, employee experience, and operational effectiveness.

• Lead the advancement of finance systems and accounting infrastructure, including ERP, billing, procurement, payroll, and reporting tools, while collaborating with Finance and IT to streamline workflows, eliminate manual processes, and promote the adoption of modern tools and AI-enabled capabilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting leadership within high-growth technology, SaaS, fintech, financial infrastructure, data, or similarly dynamic global organizations.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and scaling global accounting teams across various entities, regions, and growth stages, including functioning in complex, mature operational environments.

• Extensive technical accounting knowledge and strong understanding of US GAAP in complex and evolving business scenarios.

• Experience in developing or enhancing an accounting organization towards public-company readiness, including PCAOB-level audits, SOX environments, SEC-readiness, and scalable governance processes.

• Strong operational leadership capabilities with a proven track record of scaling organizations, optimizing processes, enhancing controls, and promoting operational excellence.

• Experience guiding teams through transformation and cultivating a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Experience with acquisitions and strategic transactions, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and operational integration.

• Familiarity with implementing and scaling ERP and finance systems, preferably including NetSuite and related finance technology platforms.

• Strong business acumen, executive presence, and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and clarify complex accounting issues.

• Proven capability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams while promoting a strong and accountable culture.

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• CPA is highly preferred.
