This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement the strategic vision for the extraction and formulation division.
• Lead projects aimed at enhancing extraction technologies, filling and formulation procedures, and overall operational efficiency.
• Manage multi-site operations across various extraction and formulation facilities.
• Provide expert insights on trends and technologies related to cannabis extraction, filling, and formulation.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining high safety standards.
• Collaborate with product development teams to create new extracts, edibles, and concentrates.
• Design, pilot, and execute new technologies at scale in conjunction with R&D and engineering teams.
• Monitor and assess emerging technologies, recommending enhancements to processes and product quality.
• Establish best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and facility standards for extraction activities.
• Drive ongoing improvements to maximize throughput, yields, and operational efficiency.
• Build and lead a team of functional leaders and specialists.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluation processes.
• Promote collaboration and continuous learning among extraction, operations, and corporate teams.
• Manage complex multi-site extraction and formulation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with senior leadership in R&D, engineering, quality, and operations.
• Report project progress, extraction performance, and strategic insights to executive leadership.
• Comply with safety, GMP, biosecurity, sanitation, record-keeping, and quality standards.
• A Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or engineering is required; a doctoral degree is preferred.
• Over 15 years of experience in operations, research and development, or engineering within the cannabis sector.
• Previous experience in formulating consumer products is essential.
• Proficiency in planning, designing experiments, and resolving issues.
• Capability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various equipment and software independently.
• Familiarity with laboratory best practices and sanitary design principles.
• Advanced mathematical skills are necessary.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines applicable to hazardous chemicals.
• Understanding of relevant federal, state, and local laws, safety regulations, municipal codes, and organizational policies, including SOPs.
• Must successfully pass all required background checks.
• Must comply with legal and company regulations governing industry employment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must receive approval from a state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry.
• Competitive base salary ranging from $200,000 to $240,000 USD annually.
• Potential eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program based on organizational and individual performance.
