
Vice President, Clinical Development – Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the Oncology Clinical Development team, ensuring proactive management of employee performance while coaching, training, and developing them to enhance their contributions.
• Responsible for the oncology clinical development of the company, including the execution of clinical trials, data collection, and analysis.
• Develop clinical protocols that align with the company’s product strategy, ensuring data collection, management, and the creation of final reports comply with relevant standard operating procedures, regulatory, and medical standards.
• Collaborate with the head of medical affairs on the scientific communication of clinical data, as well as planning and representing at oncology congresses and advisory boards.
• Serve as a key member and/or leader of oncology asset teams, overseeing the development and execution of asset strategy.
• Represent oncology clinical development in senior executive meetings.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for change, providing leadership and alignment toward necessary modifications.
• Influence and/or develop comprehensive programs and initiatives that align with the executive level vision and mission.
• Work together with functional leaders to define strategy and shared objectives, interacting with health agencies and vendors (including CROs).
• Represent Allogene in meetings with regulatory authorities and third parties such as licensing or co-development partners and consultants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• MD; completion of residency and oncology fellowship with significant leadership experience in developing oncology treatments is required; experience in cell therapy is highly desirable.
• Global experience in clinical trials and post-marketing settings is essential (cell therapy experience is preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong knowledge and understanding of development requirements and general regulatory expectations in the US, EU, and Asia.
• Ability to evaluate and manage CROs and other vendors effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize efficiently to achieve results within tight timelines, while being able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, are crucial in this collaborative work setting.
• Ability to communicate with both internal and external physicians to assess specific safety events.
