This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and lead the company-wide AI architecture and roadmap.
• Establish common interfaces and design patterns, resolving tradeoffs across different business units.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to execute architectural decisions.
• Design and develop full-stack AI and agentic systems.
• Integrate models and retrieval with agent runtimes, memory, tools, and execution environments.
• Create prototypes and production reference implementations.
• Architect production AI systems focusing on performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Benchmark model and serving options while investigating software and infrastructure bottlenecks.
• Enhance latency, throughput, and compute efficiency.
• Guide deployment strategies for both cloud and edge environments.
• Foster a consistent developer experience through reusable components, common APIs, and shared tools.
• Contribute to essential implementations and review designs and code.
• Mentor engineers and technical leaders.
• Design the AI lifecycle architecture from data ingestion and model adaptation to evaluation, deployment, and operational feedback.
• Establish reproducible workflows, automated quality gates, and observability.
• Incorporate safe rollout, rollback, and recovery mechanisms into production systems.
• Integrate security, governance, and auditability within AI architectures.
• Define permissions and execution boundaries for agents, addressing prompt injection and data exposure concerns.
• Collaborate with Security and Legal teams to translate requirements into engineering controls.
• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 10 years of experience in software architecture, systems engineering, or AI engineering, including senior technical leadership across multiple products or business units.
• Proven track record of personally designing and delivering production AI systems, including generative or agentic applications and their supporting infrastructure.
• Strong foundation in distributed systems, software design, APIs, and performance engineering.
• Practical experience with model integration, inference serving, retrieval, and evaluation.
• Experience in establishing shared platforms and engineering standards across independent teams.
• Ability to align senior stakeholders, articulate architectural tradeoffs, and mentor engineers throughout implementation.
• Demonstrated experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Significant contributions to open-source projects or industry standards (bonus).
• Knowledge in Linux systems software, networking, accelerated computing, or AI deployment across cloud and edge environments (bonus).
• Experience in modernizing established platforms into AI-native systems, particularly in cybersecurity or other environments with rigorous security and reliability demands (bonus).
