Venture Capital AI Research Contributor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop realistic Excel tasks based on venture capital, startup finance, or venture law activities.

• Enhance existing models, correct errors in models, and construct models from a provided brief.

• Methodically work through each task to derive a clear and accurate solution.

• Formulate specific yes-or-no criteria for evaluating attempts.

• Participate in a 30-minute group walkthrough session.

• Generate and submit one original task, including the brief and necessary input workbook(s).

• Utilize real sanitized data or public data, ensuring the source is acknowledged.

• Collaborate with reviewers to finalize and secure approval on the task rubric.

• Tasks will be assessed against current frontier AI models to measure their modeling performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in venture capital, startup finance, or venture law, encompassing seed to growth-stage funding rounds.

• Extensive hands-on Excel proficiency, including experience with cap tables, SAFE and note conversions, liquidation preferences, nested formulas, and named ranges.

• Excellent written communication skills in English.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Openness to learning concepts related to AI and evaluations.

• Capability to create original tasks and human-generated input workbooks using sanitized real data or public data, with the source properly cited.

• No use of AI is permitted when crafting the brief or developing input workbooks.

• Engagement as an independent contractor.
