Vegetation Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assume full responsibility for the execution of site operations across a designated portfolio of solar facilities.

• Guide and oversee the efforts of seasonal staff during peak operational times.

• Serve as the regional expert in identifying and managing noxious and invasive plant species.

• Perform site evaluations by conducting inspections to assess current vegetation and determine maintenance requirements for new locations.

• Carry out all necessary tasks for site compliance, which includes operating commercial-grade mowers.

• Maintain year-round site accessibility through site inspections and assistance with snow removal.

• Execute minor civil maintenance activities, such as basic fence repairs and tree removals.

• Produce precise site condition reports and documentation that outline completed tasks.

• Operate and take care of all assigned vehicles and specialized equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent.

• Prior experience in leading a small crew or two years in commercial field service is strongly preferred.

• Skilled in operating heavy vegetation equipment, including zero-turn mowers and brush hogs.

• Possess a valid driver's license and be comfortable towing a 20-foot trailer.

• Ability to acquire the Pesticide Applicators license within 60 days of employment.

• Experience with chainsaw operation and small-scale tree removal is an advantage.

• Familiarity with basic fence repair is a plus.
