Structural Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Perform site investigations for mining and industrial projects.

• Evaluate and design structures, building envelope systems, and structural components while following established guidelines and client specifications.

• Conduct concept studies, which include estimating quantities and preliminary designs.

• Execute detailed concrete and steel designs, collaborating with the design team to create 3D models and related documentation.

• Carry out member sizing with supporting calculations.

• Oversee tendering, contract administration, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure adherence to project specifications.

• Provide review and assistance with cost estimating.

• Compose and review technical reports, specifications, and construction specifications.

• Facilitate coordination among various departments and disciplines as needed for project implementation, mine design, and inspection.

• Demonstrate the ability and willingness to travel for site visits.

• Capable of presenting project designs and concepts to clients.

• Collaborate with vendors, clients, and other key stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering, focusing on Structural Engineering, from an accredited university.

• Registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

• Over 8 years of progressive experience as a Structural Engineer on Mining and Heavy Industrial Projects.

• Proficient with structural analysis software such as BIM, Advanced Steel, and RISA (knowledge of Revit is a plus).

• Experienced with both greenfield and brownfield mining projects.

• Well-versed in industry standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
