This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Design user experiences at the feature level as part of a cross-functional software product team.
• Gain insights into users and their experiences.
• Synthesize and communicate user needs based on research.
• Develop prototypes to convey design ideas and gather user feedback.
• Engage in UX/UI testing.
• Clearly articulate design decisions.
• Actively contribute to the team, showcasing ownership, follow-through, initiative, awareness, and effective communication.
• Collaborate with the team to create a unified product roadmap.
• Suggest improvements to design and user research processes and systems.
• Foster a positive team culture.
• Analyze software requirements by consulting with the user community.
• Attend regular project status, planning, partnership, and strategic meetings.
• Travel to connect with the larger development team at least once a year.
• Participate in biannual travel to the Language Technology Conference.
• Attend professional conferences and meetings.
• Work closely with product managers and software developers throughout all stages of product development, including inception, discovery, design, prototyping, user testing, delivery, and rollout.
• Ensure a comprehensive user experience across various touchpoints, including interface, communications, marketing, customer support, sales, and business models.
• Proven skills in UX/UI design.
• Demonstrated abilities in user interface design.
• Strong passion for addressing complex problems.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Capability to work within an agile software development team.
• Proficient in making timely decisions.
• Ability to generate multiple solutions for problems.
• Quick learner of technical concepts.
• Competence in working both collaboratively and independently, while effectively multitasking.
• Experience in software engineering with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Bachelor’s degree in design, information management, psychology, cognition, art, human-computer interaction, interactive media, interaction design, human factors, cognitive psychology, cognitive science, informatics, business, or computer science, or equivalent professional experience of 2–5 years in software, design, information, or communications, demonstrating significant contributions to completed projects.
• Completion of initial IT Software Department training and relevant IT Orientation is required.
• Volunteer position.
• Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week.
