This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ This course serves as an introduction to the foundational theories and methodologies that support design thinking and its application.
β’ UX100 familiarizes students with the design process, visual analysis, design theories, universal design, and the socio-cultural implications associated with design.
β’ Participants will explore the interactions between individuals and their natural, social, and designed environments, where intentional design plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of these interactions.
β’ Students will examine how design outcomes, whether they are successes or failures, are influenced by and can influence socio-cultural and historical contexts.
β’ Those studying design thinking will be equipped to critically evaluate the processes, results, and impacts of design engagement.
β’ Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to apply and investigate design thinking principles through collaborative, hands-on involvement in design projects.
β’ A Masterβs Degree is required.
β’ A PhD with a focus on User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Interaction Design, Design, or a similar field is preferred.
β’ Experience in teaching at the college or university level or providing training in UX or a related area is required.
β’ Professional experience in UX or a comparable field is essential.
β’ A commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the classroom is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with current industry best practices and tools pertinent to the course is preferred.
