This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct thorough medical necessity assessments and comprehensive medication evaluations for prescriptions that need pre-authorization.
• The tasks assigned are diverse and often necessitate interpretation and independent judgment to determine suitable courses of action.
• Perform a review that encompasses a detailed analysis of the medication care plan, evaluate overall utilization, and identify atypical usage patterns.
• Intervene and provide guidance to patients and healthcare providers to enhance cost-effective utilization and ensure high-quality patient outcomes, as required.
• Comprehend the department, segment, and organizational strategies and operational objectives, including their connections to related fields.
• Make decisions concerning personal work methods, sometimes in unclear circumstances.
• Adhere to established guidelines and procedures.
• A Bachelor's degree or Pharm.D is required.
• An active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of residence is mandatory.
• A pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy is essential.
• Capability to engage in Federal prescription programs, including Medicare and Medicaid reviews.
• Self-motivated, yet able to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Ability to resolve issues and foster collaborative problem-solving among peers.
• A work ethic that is diligent, precise, and highly productive.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary.
• Proficient in computer systems, with experience in various platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, pharmacy management systems).
• Experience in managed care, particularly in utilization management review.
