Urgent Care Physician, Independent Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Conduct age-appropriate medical histories and virtual examinations, assess, diagnose, recommend treatment plans, and accurately document findings in a timely manner.

• Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring safety standards are upheld.

• Maintain accurate records of patients' medical information and review their history during each visit.

• Initiate consultations or referrals with other healthcare professionals when necessary.

• Educate and counsel patients effectively.

• Order and interpret necessary diagnostic tests.

• Assess, triage, and manage both pediatric and adult patients requiring acute care.

• Oversee chronic diseases and mental health conditions.

• Stay updated on current medical research and trends.

• Offer scheduling flexibility, including availability during evenings and weekends.

• Keep precise and up-to-date patient records.

• Work collaboratively with providers and support teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a three-year residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.

• A minimum of three years of post-residency experience in a high-paced Urgent Care or Primary Care outpatient environment.

• Active ABMS or AOA Board Certification in Family Medicine, or dual-boarded in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

• Successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license in at least one state.

• Experience and comfort in providing care across all age groups, from newborns to adults.

• Capability to work within an integrated medical practice.

• Extensive clinical expertise.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven proficiency with technology.

• Flexibility in work arrangements.

• Not currently excluded or sanctioned by any state or federal healthcare program, including Medicare or Medicaid.

• Not identified as an excluded individual by the Office of Inspector General of HHS or GSA, nor reprimanded or sanctioned by Medicare.

• Must maintain an active status with Medicare.

• Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

• Regular and punctual attendance at the designated work location.

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods.

• Adequate eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, computer, and office equipment.

• Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required.

• Ability to interact appropriately with leadership, colleagues, and members.

• Preferred: multistate licensure (five or more licenses).

• Preferred: licenses in GA, AL, TN, MO, SC, IN, OK, and MS.

• Preferred: experience in telemedicine or virtual care, particularly with video-based consultations.

• Preferred: familiarity with Athena EMR.

• Preferred: interest and experience in supervising Nurse Practitioners.
