Unreal Engine Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design and develop robust gameplay mechanics (combat, interaction, progression, abilities) utilizing C++ and Blueprints;

• Create fully functional user interfaces with UMG that integrate seamlessly with gameplay logic (HUDs, menus, shops, popups, dialogs);

• Collaborate with Game Designers to convert feature specifications into modular, reusable gameplay systems;

• Partner with UI/UX Designers to transform wireframes and concepts into reality with smooth transitions, animations, and input flow;

• Ensure a clean and scalable codebase - engage in refactoring, debugging, and performance optimization;

• Take ownership of assigned gameplay/UI features, guiding them through the delivery and refinement phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience working with Unreal Engine;

• Proficient in both C++ and Blueprints, with the capability to transition between them as necessary;

• Skilled in UMG UI development, including widgets, animations, bindings, and input handling/mapping across multiple platforms;

• Strong understanding of gameplay programming patterns: state machines, event-driven architecture, modular components;

• Ability to independently manage small to mid-sized tasks and take responsibility for feature delivery;

• Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce) and collaborative development;

• English proficiency: Upper-Intermediate or higher.

• **Additional assets:**

• Proficiency in the Slate UI Framework;

• Experience with multiplayer or networked UI/gameplay features;

• Familiarity with GAS (Gameplay Ability System) or AI behavior trees;

• Exposure to profiling tools such as Unreal Insights or memory profilers.
