2D Game Developer – Defold

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and launch 2D games utilizing the Defold engine, focusing on maximizing performance while minimizing build sizes.

• Construct robust gameplay mechanics and systems through Lua scripting within a modular framework.

• Collaborate closely with designers and artists to quickly prototype games and enhance the overall user experience.

• Ensure seamless game operation by optimizing performance across various mobile and web platforms.

• Produce efficient, well-documented code that adheres to industry standards in game development.

• Identify, analyze, and resolve performance issues to ensure stable game launches.

• Provide innovative solutions to technical challenges and contribute creative ideas for gameplay and UI enhancements.

• Proven experience in developing and launching 2D games using the Defold engine.

• Skilled in Lua scripting and familiar with component-based game architecture.

• Demonstrated ability to create lightweight, performance-optimized builds that are suitable for mobile and web platforms.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative and proactive approach.

• Capability to rapidly iterate and produce results in an agile development setting.

• Solid understanding of deployment workflows across multiple platforms.

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating engaging user experiences.

• Experience with cross-platform deployment and performance optimization (preferred).
