University Advising Consultant – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee assigned student advising cases.

• Cultivate and share knowledge about the universities within the HGS university portfolio.

• Engage in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed about admissions trends and university requirements.

• Provide guidance and support to high school students and their families throughout the university counseling process, including but not limited to:

• Conduct outreach to students and families through phone calls, virtual meetings, emails, and presentations.

• Lead virtual group presentations and student activities to foster engagement in the university advising program.

• Create, maintain, and oversee records, including college admissions data, ensuring accurate data entry and validation across multiple systems.

• Perform other duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, school counseling, or a relevant field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in college admissions counseling, international student recruitment, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of university admissions processes in the United States, Canada, the UK, and/or Australia.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and effectively with individuals and groups.

• Data-driven with robust documentation abilities.

• Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and digital communication skills.

• Strong time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

• Capability to work effectively in a virtual environment.

• Proficiency in technology, including the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with common CRM and SIS platforms, or ability to quickly acquire these skills.

• Availability to assist international clients across various time zones.

• Proficiency in two or more languages - Turkish is a plus.

• Comfortable using Zoom and WhatsApp for communication with students and families.
