This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Assist in achieving the operational and service goals of the S&S Transportation Specialty Auto team.
• Aid in the review, preparation, processing, and upkeep of underwriting and policy information for both new and renewal business.
• Ensure data integrity in underwriting systems, which includes auto and general liability classifications along with loss schedules.
• Confirm documentation for coverage and limits is accurate.
• Liaise with internal and external business partners to gather necessary information and address processing-related inquiries.
• Create and verify policy documents utilizing internal systems.
• Approve policy drafts within the defined authority and escalate issues as required.
• Record premiums and ensure accurate postings.
• Issue authorized policies and relay data to third-party agencies, including Workers Compensation bureaus and DMV.
• Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements efficiently.
• Collaborate with other departments to clarify policy-related questions and optimize processes.
• Engage in system testing and participate in special projects.
• Contribute to departmental training, testing, process enhancement initiatives, and various special projects.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance or underwriting support is necessary.
• Proficient knowledge of Policy Decisions is essential, particularly in the application of Auto Insurance rates and rules.
• Previous experience in the insurance industry is preferred, especially with Commercial Auto or Specialty Auto business.
• General comprehension of insurance forms, endorsements, classifications, and exposure information is needed.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy are required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and additional business technology tools.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and data review capabilities are essential.
• Effective organizational and time management skills are necessary.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and adhere to established procedures consistently.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
