This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Direct the daily operations of Loss Mitigation Underwriting to meet service levels, productivity goals, quality benchmarks, and regulatory deadlines.
β’ Ensure that underwriting decisions align with company policies, legal requirements, and the standards set by investors, agencies, and insurers.
β’ Supervise quality control, conduct second-level reviews, manage exceptions, and address underwriting defects or recurring process issues.
β’ Provide guidance on complex, escalated, denied, or high-risk underwriting decisions, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
β’ Lead, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and team members.
β’ Manage performance through clear expectations, constructive feedback, development plans, recognition, and necessary corrective actions.
β’ Spearhead initiatives for process improvement, automation, workflow enhancements, and operational readiness.
β’ Formulate project scopes, schedules, resource plans, testing criteria, training requirements, implementation controls, and post-launch evaluations.
β’ Identify operational, compliance, customer service, and technology risks, implementing mitigation, escalation, and remediation strategies.
β’ Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Audit, Technology, Product, Operations, and servicing teams to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
β’ Create executive reports detailing performance, risks, trends, resource requirements, initiative statuses, and suggested actions.
β’ Ensure that policies, procedures, training materials, and communications are updated to reflect approved changes.
β’ Analyze feedback from customers, employees, audits, complaints, and industry trends to identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements.
β’ Support internal and external audits, investor evaluations, regulatory reviews, and remediation efforts.
β’ Undertake additional duties and lead projects as assigned.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.
β’ A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in mortgage servicing, with at least five years dedicated to Loss Mitigation, default management, or underwriting operations.
β’ At least five years of leadership experience, including oversight of supervisors, managers, or multi-tiered operational teams.
β’ Three or more years of experience with Loss Mitigation systems, workflow technologies, operational reporting, or related implementations.
β’ Proven experience in managing underwriting quality, regulatory or investor compliance, operational performance, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
