This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a team of Forensic Underwriters and manage daily team operations.
• Assist in resolving post-closing conditions on Bond, Agency, and Non-Agency loans during the purchase review process.
• Provide direction, respond to loan-level inquiries, and handle escalations.
• Address escalated investor rebuttals and guide the creation of formal written responses.
• Direct the correction of complex deficiencies.
• Oversee team tasks, assignments, and ensure a balanced workload.
• Facilitate employee development and performance coaching.
• Support onboarding and training initiatives.
• Track performance metrics and ensure documentation accuracy, timeliness, and compliance is reported to management.
• Recommend process enhancements to boost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Analyze production and processes to identify trends for the Forensic Underwriting Manager.
• Review department reports, monitor due dates, aged loans, and investor turnaround times.
• Clarify acceptable defect resolutions with investors.
• Keep track of the loan pipeline and provide status updates to the Forensic Underwriting Manager.
• Ensure the team achieves monthly targets.
• Review rebuttal denials and collaborate with the Forensic Underwriting Manager to explore resolution options.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Team Lead or senior position.
• Experience in addressing investor conditions and exceptions.
• Familiarity with Encompass is preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations.
• Understanding of Agency, Non-Agency, Bond, and Non-QM guidelines.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to determine solutions and identify alternative resolutions within acceptable parameters.
• Proficient in prioritizing and completing multiple tasks within set timeframes.
• Capable of making independent decisions.
• Excellent customer service skills with both internal employees and external vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
