This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Develop and uphold professional communication with field partners and clients.
• Address inquiries related to cases, appeals, and placement matters.
• Offer guidance to the Financial Network and Financial Representatives regarding case underwriting and risk evaluation.
• Review and respond to prescreen inquiries effectively.
• Evaluate and assess Long Term Care insurance applications.
• Analyze medical, functional, cognitive, occupational, and lifestyle risk factors.
• Approve, classify, modify, or decline applications in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
• Implement Long Term Care underwriting standards, product knowledge, and principles of risk selection.
• Determine suitable offers based on morbidity risk assessment.
• Oversee cases, underwriting requirements, quality, service, cycle time, and production expectations.
• Clarify modified or declined decisions and assist with policy placement.
• Gather necessary information from medical records, digital health data, applicants, and third-party advisors.
• Collaborate with peer reviewers, medical resources, and technical staff on complex cases.
• Address and resolve case-related issues and escalations.
• Work alongside Underwriting Support for the timely completion of requirements.
• Act as an underwriting representative in initiatives for product, process, or operational improvements, as well as additional projects.
• Strongly preferred: Long Term Care underwriting experience or relevant individual insurance underwriting experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least 1.5 years of traditional underwriting experience required.
• Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to make independent decisions and apply sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Capable of handling confidential information with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
• Proficient in computer applications and relevant software platforms.
• Able to work accurately while maintaining the necessary speed, flexibility, and productivity.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, manage competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
