Underwriter, E&S Commercial Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Underwrite all coverage types and classes available on both admitted and non-admitted bases.

• Collaborate closely with our designated retail agents and wholesale brokers to underwrite new business, significant renewals, and complex transactions.

• Performance will be primarily assessed based on profitability, growth, and agency management.

• Concentrate on essential tasks that yield results with assistance from a team of underwriting assistants managing most post-bind transactions.

• Work in conjunction with the national sales team to appoint new agents and wholesale brokers, acquire new business submissions, and offer insights during the agency review phase.

• Leverage our proprietary software platform for rating, issuance, documentation, and workflow to streamline the underwriting process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 5 to 20+ years of experience in multi-line commercial underwriting.

• Capability to underwrite risks ranging from small to large TIV with complex insuring needs across various commercial occupancies.

• Experience in primary property underwriting with a focus on high hazard CAT and non-CAT perils.

• Previous experience in underwriting shared and layered business on a follow form and manuscript basis.

• Established long-term relationships with nationally recognized retail agencies and wholesale brokerage teams.

• Advanced understanding of technical underwriting, form language, and the competitive landscape.

• Ability to adopt a consultative approach with agents to differentiate our offerings in new business, renewals, and services while fostering strong relationships.
