Electrical Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents.

• Accurately calculate quantity take-offs for lighting, power, data, and various electrical systems.

• Create comprehensive project cost estimates using Microsoft Excel, covering materials, labor, and subcontractor rates.

• Prepare competitive tenders and professional bids for clients.

• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors via email to secure competitive pricing for electrical, civil works, and other trade packages.

• Participate in site inspections as necessary to aid the estimating process.

• Assist in formulating project budgets and initial schedules.

• Engage in client discussions throughout the tender process and facilitate successful negotiations.

• Keep precise records of estimates, supplier quotes, project communications, and tender documentation.

• Utilize SimPro (or similar software) for project tracking and documentation support.

• Actively seek ways to enhance estimating processes and contribute to business growth.

• Operate independently while effectively collaborating with the broader project team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a comparable estimating position.

• Background in electrical trades or a relevant qualification.

• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

• Proven experience in preparing quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and a solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience in creating professional tender submissions and bid documentation.

• Proven experience in coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to acquire precise pricing.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.

• Self-driven with the capability to independently oversee the estimating process from inception to completion.

• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office environment.

• Availability to work during Australian business hours.

• **Nice to Have:**

• Familiarity with SimPro, Bluebeam, Groundplan, or other estimating and project management software.

• Knowledge of Australian electrical standards or prior experience supporting Australian contractors.

• Experience in estimating commercial or industrial electrical projects.

• Understanding of structured cabling systems, ICT infrastructure, or security systems.

• Background in supporting business development or identifying new project opportunities.
