This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The UI/UX Designer is tasked with crafting intuitive, user-centered experiences for intricate software applications.
• This position integrates user research, interaction design, visual design, and usability best practices to develop solutions that are functional and accessible.
• The UI/UX Designer collaborates closely with project leads, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to grasp user needs, convert requirements into effective designs, and guarantee the successful execution of user-centered solutions.
• This role is pivotal in enhancing usability, boosting user adoption, and improving overall product effectiveness.
• Engage in user research activities, including stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, usability testing, and gathering feedback.
• Convert business, technical, and user requirements into intuitive user experiences and interface designs.
• Produce design artifacts such as user journeys, process flows, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and user interface specifications.
• Design user experiences for desktop applications, web applications, and data-driven systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure the precise implementation of design requirements.
• Take part in sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and reviews as a component of an Agile development process.
• Conduct usability evaluations and propose design enhancements based on user feedback and observed behavior.
• Establish and uphold design standards, patterns, and reusable interface components.
• Advocate for accessibility and usability best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Present design concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Typically holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience; for instance, each year of work experience may substitute for one year of required education.
• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, product design, human-centered design, or a similar discipline.
• Proven experience in designing end-to-end user experiences for software applications.
• Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, or similar UX design platforms.
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
• Strong comprehension of interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles.
• Experience working collaboratively with software development teams in Agile environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience designing Electron-based desktop applications or other thick client software solutions.
• Experience in crafting user experiences for technical, engineering, analytics, or data-intensive applications.
• Familiarity with data visualization principles and dashboard design.
• Experience working within government, defense, intelligence community, or regulated environments.
• Experience supporting applications that operate in disconnected, restricted, or air-gapped environments.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
• Familiarity with design systems and component libraries.
