UFT Tester / Test Manager with Public-Sector Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Plan, coordinate, and carry out testing activities with an emphasis on test automation utilizing OpenText UFT.

• Evaluate existing manual test cases for quality, completeness, and potential for automation, and manage any necessary modifications.

• Design, implement, and enhance automated test cases for software products, web solutions, and hardware systems using OpenText UFT.

• Create sequential and keyword-driven test scripts, and automate additional test cases derived from development projects and IT services.

• Conduct automated functional, integration, system, regression, and acceptance testing, including the assessment and documentation of test results.

• Investigate defects, maintain current UFT test scripts, and improve them further.

• Integrate and oversee automated test cases using OpenText UFT and OpenText ALM / Quality Center, while documenting work progress in Jira.

• Generate and maintain documentation for automated test scripts.

• Manage handovers, including demonstrations and relevant documentation.

• Onboard project personnel and IT services, transferring knowledge on test automation, maintenance, and usage of automated test scripts.

• Provide training on OpenText UFT and on sequential and keyword-driven scripting methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in planning and conducting software tests, particularly with a focus on test automation in complex IT and service settings.

• Proven experience in automating tests for desktop applications, Microsoft Office, and reactive web applications, especially using OpenText UFT.

• Hands-on experience with structured Object Repositories, the Page Object Pattern, descriptive programming for object identification, and parameterized and data-driven test scripts in OpenText UFT.

• Experience in assessing and designing test automation strategies within intricate service and solution environments.

• Familiarity with implementing automated end-to-end (E2E) test processes in integration testing environments.

• Deep understanding of integrating and managing automated test cases with OpenText ALM / Quality Center and OpenText SDM.

• Experience in providing technical consulting and advancing test automation strategies, including model-based test automation methods.

• Proficient in analyzing, documenting, and tracking defects, as well as maintaining and evolving automated test scripts.

• Extensive knowledge of standard testing methodologies and processes.

• Experience collaborating and sharing knowledge with development teams, business units, and responsible IT services.

• Valid certification in software testing, such as ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) or a higher level.

• Experience working within interdisciplinary project teams and coordinating with development, business units, and project management.

• Proficient in German at a native level or at least C1 proficiency.

• Proficient in English at a B1 level.
