Tutor Quality & Engagement Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Supervise the experience, performance, and growth of the tutor team

• Conduct initial interviews for tutors and lead small-group onboarding sessions

• Assist tutors in navigating Teachworks, Lessonspace, Google Drive, and setting session expectations

• Facilitate practice onboarding and demonstration sessions

• Perform one-month check-ins with new tutors and offer initial feedback

• Execute weekly session audits of 3–5 tutors, assessing structure, flow, engagement, teaching clarity, and effectiveness

• Document audit findings, provide actionable feedback, identify trends, and escalate any concerns

• Lead occasional retraining sessions for tutors

• Act as the primary point of contact for tutor inquiries

• Manage the Tutor Slack/Discord channel and conduct weekly or bi-weekly office hours

• Carry out periodic check-ins with tutors to collect feedback on their experience, student progress, and operational enhancements

• Maintain and enhance tutor resources and training materials

• Share best practices and insights derived from audits, feedback, and student outcomes

• Assist in matching tutors with students based on consultation notes, schedules, student needs, and tutor strengths

• Support the creation of SAT/ACT Prep Plans

• Collaborate with the Founder and Tutoring Operations Coordinator on final decisions

• Participate in weekly stand-up meetings to review priorities and plan for the future

⛳️ Requirements

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Background in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring

• Capable of providing clear, constructive feedback

• Highly organized and detail-oriented

• Comfortable operating in a startup-style, dynamic environment

• Availability of approximately 10–15 hours per week

• Primary availability on Tuesday–Thursday, from 5–8 PM EST, with some scheduling flexibility

• Familiarity with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar)

• Knowledge of Teachworks and Lessonspace

• Familiarity with Slack or Discord

• Proficient in using email and messaging tools for internal communication
