Tutor – Competition Math

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Utilize proprietary software applications to provide input and labels for specific projects.

• Assist in ensuring the delivery of meticulously curated high-quality data.

• Play a crucial role in supporting and contributing to the training of new tasks, collaborating closely with technical staff to guarantee the successful development and execution of innovative initiatives and technologies.

• Engage with technical personnel to enhance the design of efficient annotation tools.

• Conceptualize, select, and refine tasks based on competitive mathematics, including:

• Problem Creation: Formulate questions and answers appropriate for AI training, modeled after the style and difficulty of elite math competitions.

• Rubric Creation: Develop grading rubrics for evaluating model solutions to competition-style problems, aligning with the style and practices of official contest rubrics.

• Solution Grading: Assess model solutions to competition-style problems, with or without a rubric.

• Proof Checking: Evaluate model solutions to competition-style proof problems, determining their correctness and the scores they deserve.

• Interpret, analyze, and carry out tasks based on provided instructions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Recognition in a prestigious math competition (e.g., IMO, USAMO, Putnam, etc.).

• Extensive experience in coaching participants in high-level math competitions.

• A Master’s or PhD in mathematics, complemented by prior involvement in math competitions.

• Proficiency in both reading and writing, in both informal and professional English contexts.

• Strong capability to navigate various information resources and databases.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Solid reading comprehension abilities combined with the capacity to exercise independent judgment even when faced with limited data or materials.

• A deep-seated passion for and commitment to technological progress and innovation.

• Previous experience in AI tutoring.

• Proficiency in LaTeX, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
