
Truckload Transportation Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Organize and schedule daily truckload operations.
• Adjust truck dimensions, routing, and consolidation strategies dynamically based on volume, cut-off times, and service obligations.
• Ensure timely tendering, acceptance, dispatch, and delivery of loads.
• Negotiate both contracted and spot rates with carriers.
• Secure spot capacity when contracted options are either unavailable or not optimal.
• Maintain rate cards and benchmarks for spot rates categorized by lane and equipment type.
• Monitor all assigned loads from pickup to delivery.
• Actively identify risks such as late pickups, missed appointments, breakdowns, and capacity failures.
• Coordinate recovery strategies with carriers, fulfillment centers, and downstream partners.
• Escalate significant risks with clear strategies for mitigation and potential trade-offs.
• Provide support during weekends or outside regular hours as necessary.
• Daily balance service-level requirements with cost-effectiveness.
• Identify ongoing cost drivers and performance challenges by lane or carrier.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to lane design, carrier selection, and tender strategy.
• Ensure accurate updates on load status in TMS and internal systems.
• Confirm carrier validations, proof of deliveries, and delivery timestamps.
• Assist in reporting on on-time performance and cost metrics.
• Highly self-driven with a strong sense of accountability.
• Strong analytical thinker capable of evaluating trade-offs and making informed decisions with limited data.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic settings where daily plans may change.
• Clear and concise communicator who can escalate issues with relevant context and proposed solutions.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with truckload transportation (FTL, LTL, dry van, box truck) is preferred.
• Experience with TMS, carrier portals, or operational tracking tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of freight terminology, types of equipment, or rate structures is preferred.
• Background in operations-intensive roles (dispatch, warehouse operations, field operations, customer operations) is preferred.
